I'm tripping really hard right now (not literally, but figuratively). All in one day I got news of a joyous birth, and a tragic death. And this is the second time this has happened this year.

I think of it like a circle -- if you pick any arbitrary point on it as the "beginning" of the circle, that point also becomes the end.
